It’s NYS Permit Test Time! Take Our FREE NYS Permit Practice Tests
We wrote the questions for our NYS practice permit test service by drudging through the New York DMV Driver’s Manual. We grabbed all the nuggets of information, we wrote questions that could challenge you, and we also included explanations to help you remember the most suitable answers as you’re going through the actual NYS permit test. Our practice tests will surely force you to think, but since you understand the information and facts about driving a vehicle, we feel confident that you’ll do great.
Did we forget to tell you that they’re 100% FREE? Silly us.
What Will You Find in Our NYS Practice Permit Test?
Well, it depends on what you need. If you think you’re ready for the test and just want to confirm that, select the NYS Practice Permit Tests menu option above. Each practice NYS permit test incorporates a mix of the three primary kinds of questions you’ll find on the real NYS permit test.
If you’re still studying or you want to strengthen in one particular area that the NYS permit test covers, we also have separate practice permit tests for the three core areas. They are as follows:
- First, you’ll find road signs and markings questions. These questions test out your knowledge of road signs, pavement markings, and traffic signals. The practice tests for road signs and markings are found under the Road Signs and Markings Test (coming soon) menu. (Go figure.)
- Next, we give you test questions about safe driving behaviors. These will quiz you on driving stats, best practices behind the wheel, and common driving rules. If you want practice tests on this topic, head to the Driver Safety Test (coming soon) menu option.
- Then finally, the third type is New York Law-specific questions. These practice tests make sure you are aware of the laws that are specific to the Empire state. You’ll get asked questions like, “Which identification document would not be allowed when submitting an application for a driver’s license?”, “What will be the punishment in the event you willfully flee or attempt to evade an officer carrying out their duties?”, and “What is the speed limit when driving in an alley?” Those can get you thinking! Can you guess which menu option these fall under? You are correct. They’re in the NYS Drivers Law Test area (also coming soon – we won’t make you wait too long!).
All told, you’ll find we have nearly 500 questions to quiz you with in our NYS practice permit test service. We’re adding new tests regularly that you can use to test yourself. If you want to be notified when we add new practice tests, just sign up via RSS or e-mail in that box to the right —> and we’ll make sure you know.
I’m Not Ready to Take a NYS Practice Permit Test!
Are you still at the beginning of your preparations and you’ve not studied your driver’s manual over and over? Don’t believe you’re able to wrestle with a NYS practice permit test? That’s OK. Frankly, we can’t dream of anything more tedious and unpleasant than digesting a driver’s license handbook either. Thankfully our interactive NYS practice permit test service could also be used as a substitute for your NYS DMV driver’s manual. (You’re welcome.) I’ll clarify.
NYS Permit Test Study Guide
If you decide to operate the system as a NYS permit test study guide, it’s honestly a breeze to do. Along with each question, you’ll be given four multiple choice options. You need to read the question in detail and select what you think will be the best answer. Whenever you do that, it will immediately inform you if your selected response is right or wrong. Best of all, it presents the full explanation of the appropriate answer. This reinforces the information in your memory and it’s a whole heck of a lot more entertaining than examining the dull driver’s license manual day after day. If you complete most of our practice permit tests and study the correct responses and explanations, you will in the process have reviewed most of the material in the DMV manual.
